Week 1 Round-Up
May 8, 2020
A tough start but a strong finish.
The third season of the NBA 2K League tipped off this week with Kings Guard Gaming seeing their first official action with the new-look squad.
Because of the current circumstances, the regular season also looks a little different than seasons past. Each team faces off against their opponent remotely and each matchup is a best-of-three series.
In Sacramento’s first encounter on Tuesday, it went toe-to-toe with Warriors Gaming squad in a Northern California showdown.
The series went down to the wire in two straight games but KGG ultimately fell in heartbreaking fashion on both occasions, with each contest coming down to one possession. This meant a 0-1 setback for Sacramento to begin SZN 3.
Fortunately, they didn’t have to wait too long to bounce back since Kings Guard returned to action on Thursday night against Lakers Gaming.
Though Sacramento stumbled out of the gates in both Game 1 and 2 against Los Angeles, KGG was able to erase deficits both times and wound up sweeping LA in two straight victories. This placed Kings Guard back on track at 1-1 at the end of Week 1.

One of the biggest takeaways from the first slate of games was the impressive stat lines from rookie point guard Bash.
The first-year pro is already averaging 29.2 points after the first four contests, including a 41-point outburst in his debut game and a 32-point showing in the series-clinching win against Lakers Gaming.
