Operation Sports Q&A with Worthingcolt
April 18, 2018
Before he became the 31st overall pick in the inaugural NBA 2K League Draft, Worthingcolt sat down for an interview with Operation Sports to discuss the early stages of heading into a new journey as a pro gamer.
The Kings Guard big man discussed attending a 2K event prior to February’s 2K League Combine, where he would go on to win and what it meant for the future of his 2K career.
“My motivation for going was looking at these past events and seeing how much the community stuck together, and built relationships with others players and managers,” Worthingcolt told Josiah Cohen of Operation Sports. “I figured that it would be better to let people see who I am and what I’m like in person rather than through a video game.”
The second round pick also shed some light on his mindset for the Combine and his eventual path to the League.
“Do what I’ve always been doing and everything will fall into place,” said the center. “I’ve been playing 2K competitively at a high level for free just for the love for the game.”
Now that he’s on the professional level, Worthingcolt will be looking to parlay his passion for the game into more domination as he and his Kings Guard teammates prepare for their season ahead.
