NBA 2K League Draft Set for Tuesday, March 5

Sacramento, Calif. – Yesterday, the NBA 2K League announced the official date for the 2019 NBA 2K League Draft which will occur on Tuesday, March 5.
Held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn N.Y., the 2019 NBA 2K League Draft feature four rounds livestreamed on the league’s Twitch channel, beginning at 2 p.m. PST. Kings Guard Gaming will own the following selections in the draft:
- 3rd overall (won by Kings Guard Gaming during the Draft Lottery in September 2018)
- 22nd overall (1st pick in the second round)
- 43rd overall (1st pick in the third round)
- 65th overall (1st pick in the fourth round)
With the addition of four expansion teams, 126 players will compete in the NBA 2K League’s second season – and new this year – more players will be draft-eligible than spots available in the league. The draft-eligible player pool will consist of new players who were selected by the league following an extensive tryout process, players from the league’s APAC Invitational that took place in Hong Kong, as well as unretained players from season one who successfully completed Combine requirements.
Additional details on the 2019 NBA 2K League Draft will be announced at a later date.
The newly selected members of Kings Guard Gaming will join teammates Jhade “WorthingColt” Black and Trent “TimelyCook” Donald who will return in the purple and black for season two. In his first season, WorthingColt averaged 18.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1 block and 1.4 steals per game. TimelyCook averaged 13.9 points, 12.2 rebounds, 0.05 blocks and 2 steals per game in the inaugural year of the NBA 2K League. Kings Guard will have access to the world’s first esports training facility and content studio housed inside a pro sports venue.
