Kings Guard’s Warm Welcome

Sacramento players arrive and settle into their new home

Imagine one week going about your normal routine, then making history by getting drafted into the first NBA 2K League – and finally, moving to a new coast to live your dream.

It’s been the reality for the six Kings Guard players.

On Monday, Worthingcolt was the first to arrive in Sacramento. The next morning, he welcomed ColeWorld2K and Mootyy, while Safiya4ya and Timelycook joined in the evening. CowboyxCollazo completed the team on Wednesday afternoon as the group enjoyed some fun at Punch Bowl Social with fellow 2K players and YouTubers from the 2Hype crew — Kris London and Jesserthelazer, who’d previously collaborated with Kings Guard, brought CashNasty, 50Kal Mal, TTG and Jiedel, as well as local gamer KTO.

After bowling and a bite, Kings Guard players took a tour of Golden 1 Center, which concluded with a visit their new home court – Kings Gaming Studio.

After being in awe of the first-class space that featured 10 gaming stations, a DJ setup, retro arcade system, big screen TVs and an array of amenities, the players’ eyes widened when UFC Hall of Famer and Kings Guard Director of Mental Performance and Human Optimization Urijah Faber walked through the doors with Sacramento Kings Owner and Chairman Vivek Ranadivé.

Following a team dinner with Faber in the arena’s ultra-exclusive 79 club, the squad high-fived Kings players as they ran onto the court and sat courtside for the Kings vs. Houston Rockets season finale.

Midway through the first quarter, Kings Guard received a gracious welcome from Sacramento’s 6th Man, as they were shown on Golden 1 Center’s massive 4K videoboards.

After the game, the group met Kings legend and general manager Vlade Divac, point guard De’Aaron Fox, rapper Vanilla Ice and artist/songwriter Lexy Panterra – followed by late-night gaming in the studio with No. 5 and 2Hype.

On Thursday, the thrilling week continued as Kings Guard and 2Hype teamed up for the Elympics – a double-elimination tournament in which members of Kings Guard and 2Hype paired up to compete in basketball drills, Pong, Street Fighter and Super Smash Bros. for the Golden Basketball trophy.

Following the entertaining competition, the team’s biggest reveal awaited – a visit to Kings Gaming House.

After touring the stunning digs, settling on rooms and sitting down for interviews with ESPN, the group broke bread and toasted to the hard work that brought them all together – and the journey that’s just begun.

Welcome home, Kings Guard!
