Kings Guard to select Fourth in Opening Round of esports League’s First Draft

Sacramento Kings CTO and head of esports Ryan Montoya released the following statement after the NBA 2K League announced the 2018 Draft order:

“Kings Guard is excited to participate in the NBA 2K League’s first ever draft. We have been called the most innovative company in sports and we will use technology, including AI, to help us draft the most skilled and elite players in the world who are passionate and competitive team players.”

Kings Guard will join 16 other teams in the inaugural season of the NBA 2K League, a joint venture between the NBA and Take-Two Interactive, featuring the best 2K players in the world

Today’s non-weighted lottery determined the order for the six-round inaugural draft that will take place on Wednesday, April 4 at 1 p.m. ET in The Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden’s Lobby in New York. The draft will consist of six rounds with each team selecting six players and will be snake order, with the order of picks reversing after each round. Kings Guard will select fourth in the first, third and fifth round. In the second, fourth, and final round, Kings Guard will select fourteenth.
