Kings Guard Gaming Rookie Forward Crush Named as Nominee for “Defensive Player of the Year”

On Saturday, August 22, during the NBA 2K League Semifinals, Kings Guard Gaming’s rookie forward Rafel “Crush” Davis was named as a nominee for the 2020 NBA 2K League’s “Defensive Player of the Year.” This nomination was determined by voting from NBA 2K League team managers, coaches and players.

“Being named a nominee for the Defensive Player of the Year award is a huge honor,” said Rafel “Crush” Davis. “This season, I’ve dedicated myself to improving my game and supporting my team. This recognition by my NBA 2K League colleagues, coaches and staff is validation of my hard work and motivation to continue striving to be better – I’m so grateful.”

In his first year in the league, Crush averaged 9.5 points, 1.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 3.0 steals.

The NBA 2K League will announce the winner of the Defensive Player of the Year, as well as several other player honors, on Saturday, August 29, during a 15-minute preshow for the 2020 NBA 2K League Finals. Fans can tune in on Twitch, YouTube and ESPN 2.

Kings Guard Gaming ended the 2020 season tied for fifth place in the 2020 NBA 2K League Playoffs and a regular-season record of 11-5. From successful tournament runs, the team accrued a total of $107,100 in prize money.
