Kings Guard Gaming Enters SZN 3 with Sights Set on Greatness

After a tremendous turnaround in Kings Guard Gaming’s second season in the NBA 2K League, the squad isn’t ready to slow down.

KGG clinched a playoff berth last year following a tough first season where they won just four games.

Sacramento’s roster will include two familiar faces entering SZN 3, including the sharpshooting guard BallLikeSeem and defensive stalwart Yusuf_Scarbz.

In addition, Dat Boy Shotz joins the two returners as another veteran presence on the squad. Shotz was Hawks Talon GC’s first overall pick in the 2019 Expansion Draft and was brought in through a blockbuster trade that sent Bp over to Atlanta while also bringing in the No. 3 pick in the upcoming 2020 Draft.

NBA2KLeague.com caught up with Seem and Yusuf for a Q&A to gain more insight on their SZN 3 mindset.

“We’re trying to build a good, bonded team that has great communication. Build a winning culture with players who are willing to buy into the system that we’ve already created,” said Yusuf_Scarbz. “We want to work together to determine roles, listen to the coaching and eventually win the ‘ship. That’s the goal.”

Seem also chimed in about being happy but not satisfied with postseason appearances.

“With Season 2, yeah I had bigger goals and we had an amazing team. Individually I felt like we had the chance to win the whole thing. We fell short to the champion Timberwolves. But I had big goals in mind. I wanted to surpass just making the Playoffs. Yes that’s a decent goal to have, but getting kicked out in the first round two seasons in a row, to me, is unacceptable and I plan to change that next season.”

The 2020 2K League Draft is just around the corner on February 22 as KGG will fill out their remaining three roster spots with the two first round picks (No. 3 and No. 17) and the fifth pick of the 2nd round.
