Kings Guard Draft Order Set
March 12, 2018
Learn more about where Sacramento landed in the first-ever 2K League Lottery!
Heading into the inaugural NBA 2K League season, a major step was taken on Tuesday with the first-ever Draft Lottery – which determined the order in which team’s will pick in next month’s Draft.
The Lottery ran similarly to the process used by the NBA for its Draft, where each team was assigned a ping pong ball to be drawn randomly. Unlike the NBA, each of the 2K League’s 17 teams had equal chances of securing the top pick. Additionally, the 2K League Draft will be serpentine, meaning the order of teams reverses after each round.
Kings Guard landed the No. 4 overall pick after the ping pong balls settled, meaning Sacramento possesses the 4th, 31st, 38th, 65, 72nd and 99th picks to fill out the roster.
“Kings Guard is excited to participate in the NBA 2K League’s first-ever draft,” said Sacramento Kings CTO and head of esports Ryan Montoya. “We have been called the most innovative company in sports and we will use technology, including AI, to help us draft the most skilled and elite players in the world who are passionate and competitive team players.”
