February 18, 2020
What does Black History Month mean to you?
Black history month means a lot to me. It’s a time to celebrate all of the hardships African Americans have overcome and all the success African Americans have accomplished.
Why do you think it’s important for everyone to learn about black history?
It’s important for everyone to learn about Black History Month because it’s a major part of history. People need to know about the events that led up to where we are today.
How do you celebrate your African American heritage?
I celebrate my African American heritage by being grateful for the thousands of people who pushed for integration in sports and I do my best to honor their legacy by striving for greatness off and on the court.
What advice would you give to fellow African Americans who are striving to succeed in the sports and gaming industry?
Keep working hard at whatever you do, so you can be whatever you wanna be in life.
What do you enjoy most about what you do?
The fact that I get to support my family financially, meet new people from around the world/country from playing a video game and that I’ve lived in different states a long way from home.
Why is it important to continue to encourage diversity across the league?
It’s important to encourage diversity so we can show people that no matter where you’re from, your race, your family’s history – you can make it.
