Kings Guard Families Show Support at THE TICKET

On July 12, the NBA 2K League held its final tournament of the season, THE TICKET. Stakes were high as Kings Guard would have to defeat Warriors Gaming in a play-in game. With a new line-up and support from the fans in the studio, the Sactown team pulled through with a 62-58 win advancing in the tournament.

The fans filling the 2K studios that night were loud and proud family members of Kings Guard who brought all the noise from their cowbells and rocked custom Kings Guard gear supporting their loved ones.

The ColeWorld2K family made sure everyone in the studios knew who they were as the back of their shirts read No.99 and “ColeWorld2K Aunt Missy, ColeWorld2K Momma and ColeWorld2K Gammie”

Safiy4ya’s girlfriend Bella, son Noah, mom and step-dad made the 7-hour drive from Richmond, Virginia to the 2K League studios in New York.

“Seeing my family cheer me on reminded me of why I’m doing all of this. Everything I do is for them, to repay them for everything they’ve given me,” said NO. 44.

Mootyy’s grandparents (affectionately known as ma-ma and pa-pa) along with his mom would also join the Kings Guard cheering section in time for the biggest upset in league history with a huge win over Blazer5 Gaming.

He shared that “the support was overwhelming” and that “it was incredible to hear the families in the stands rooting us on. It made the atmosphere that much better and satisfying coming up with a big win.”

Following the monumental upset, the team moved on to the quarterfinals but fell short against CLTX Gaming with a final score of 64-78.

A rematch awaits as Kings Guard will take on CLTX Gaming for a regular season game on Friday, July 20 at 6PM PT. We know the Kings Guard family extends beyond those who attended the tournament in the studio, so we hope to see the rest of the Kings Guard fam on Twitch for Friday’s game.
