Heading into a new season, it was crucial for Kings Guard to find a floor general to help lead the way.
That need was addressed quickly in the 2019 NBA 2K League Draft when Sacramento selected Michael Diaz, other wise known as BP, with the third overall pick.

Hailing from Bridgeport, CT, the 20-year-old point guard will be entering his first season in the 2K League.
“I was just excited,” said the first-rounder when detailing his feelings on hearing his name called. “I’ve never been to California and I’ve always wanted to live there or visit.”
While BP was not in Brooklyn to attend the Draft in person, he expressed his gratitude to be able to spend the life-changing night with his loved ones.
Unfortunately I can’t make the draft on tuesday but ima spend this time with my mom and my family because without them I wouldn’t be in this position ❤️

Diaz plays as a playmaking sharpshooter archetype and gave his Twitter followers some insight into his process of perfecting his dribbling craft.

When asked about what he brings to the table for the team, the Connecticut native primarily highlighted his “ability to score and control the offense”.
BP also noted his experience playing both with and against Kings Guard teammates WorthingColt, Roman, Yusuf_Scarbz and Zakyy610.
“I’m cool with all of them and they always made me play my hardest,” said Diaz. “So it’s just great to be able to see them in person and play with them on the stage now.”
With season two on the horizon, the third overall pick laid out his expectations for Sacramento’s season simply and firmly.
“Winning tourneys and the 2k League Finals.”
